A Home Theater System Designed for Our Client’s on Maxwell Bay
The Cinematic Experience Combined with Home Automation
Recently, we had the pleasure of creating a fully automated home for one of our clients living on Maxwell Bay near Minnetonka, MN. One of their main goals was to construct an enjoyable space that was easy to manage with one-touch control—technology made simple.
In today’s post, we’d like to highlight their dedicated home theater system that turned a room into a space to gather with family and friends and enjoy a cinematic experience that rivals the best movie theaters in town.

A Collaborative Effort
First, we’d like to note that we didn’t do this alone. It takes a team to create spaces that define ease of living and enjoyment. By collaborating with other trades early in the project and on-site, we were able to work together to conceal technology and maintain and add to the aesthetics and design of the home.
Second, one of the essential parts of the design phase is the conversations with our clients. We develop a deep understanding of what technology solutions could truly make a difference in their day-to-day lives. Then, we gear up to exceed their expectations. Perhaps it’s for this reason, and many more, that we develop life-long relationships with many of our customers that we now consider friends.
The design principles for this home theater included a comfortable, luxurious environment that emanated the look and feel of a first-class theater. They also wanted audio and video that delivered an immersive cinematic experience. Let’s see how it was done.
The Video and Audio
To create true-to-life sound and images, we installed a Sony projector and Stewart video screen. Sony projectors are some of the best on the market, offering True 4K HDR. What this means is incredible color, clarity, and detail. Stewart screens are custom-made to maximize image fidelity. These are the same screens used at AMC theaters, Lucasfilm, Disney, and NASA. Hard to beat.
As you can see from the pictures, we discreetly installed in-wall and in-ceiling Paradigm speakers and subwoofers. Their advanced technologies deliver unmatched levels of realism, and strategic placement offers the surround-sound entertainment that defines the home theater experience.
Fortunately, today’s market has created ever-expanding audio and video entertainment products, from entry-level to enterprise, enabling our team to develop the perfect solution for each homeowner’s unique needs.
The Lighting and Seating
Architectural wall sconces offered enough ambient light for safety while creating a beautiful, cinematic atmosphere. With one-touch lighting control, the homeowners can turn up the in-ceiling lights at the end of the movie or when it’s time for a snack.
Our clients opted for comfortable, reclining-tiered movie seating. This gives everyone the best seat in the house and provides that movie theater-like setting.
The Control
The home and theater are controlled through the Savant home automation system. Savant has long been known for its customizable options. Our clients wanted an easy-to-use, one-touch control system, and Savant delivered it.
