McIntosh, Sonus faber, and Rotel Deliver High-End Audio for Home Theaters and Two-Channel Listening
The team at Residential Technology Systems recently installed a home theater and two-channel audio demo in one of our partner's showrooms. Our friends at Sumiko, the leading importer and distributor of high-end audio products in North America, wanted a space where they could demonstrate both types of high-fidelity audio. Some of the brands we incorporated into the final project included McIntosh, Rotel, Sonus faber, Sony, Screen Innovations, and AudioQuest, brands we routinely use in our customized home automation projects for our clients in Wayzata, MN, and the surrounding areas.

High-End Audio Imagined
What comes to mind when you think about your experience at high-end cinematic venues? For some, it’s the massive screen and the images that race across it in almost 3D splendor. For many, however, it’s the sound that embraces the room, the planes flying overhead, the clear dialogue, the special effects that encircle you, and the bass that provides the impact.
The audio purist will appreciate the full Rotel and McIntosh rack that delivers the surround sound required in today's exclusive home theaters. McIntosh was founded back in 1949 to provide an unparalleled listening experience and has stayed true to its original vision. Combined with Rotel’s world-class components, you experience faithful reproduction of the original musical performance.
For two-channel audio, we incorporated Rotel and Sonus Faber. Sonus Faber, based in Italy and born of a small artisan workshop, handcrafts some of the finest speakers in the world, creating an emotional experience in sound reproduction. The two-channel listening experience provides pure, pristine audio as if sitting in a concert venue.
We also used AudioQuest interconnect cables. An essential part of high-end equipment installation, these cables reduce interference and provide impressive levels of clarity and detail.
Bringing the Images to Life
Sony’s GTZ 380 projector offers the ultimate 4K resolution laser projector for spectacular brightness and incredible realism. We installed this projector to bring the images to life with bright illumination and vibrant colors across the entire spectrum. We combined this with Screen Innovations' handcrafted Zero Edge screen that delivers a sharp image and is ideal for 4K video content.
Room Acoustics
The addition of acoustic treatments ensures premium sound in a room, reducing reflections and reverberation. To accomplish this, we used Artnovion acoustic panels that are both functional and beautiful. Doors were sealed with a bottom and side blocker so that sound could not transfer out of the room.
A Savant touchscreen effortlessly controls all the systems. With one tap, users can select which type of demo they would like to provide—the 2-channel audio setup or home theater surround sound—the source and the power. At the same time, they can dim the lights, set the temperature, and prepare for the ultimate cinematic experience.
