Learn About Best-in-Class Projectors, Screens, and Home Automation

In this, our second in the series on our Sumiko Project, we’re going to take a deep dive into the home theater installation we provided for our friends at Sumiko. As you might remember, Sumiko is the leading importer and distributor of hi-end audio products in North America, and the home theater is a part of their showroom near Plymouth, MN.

They wanted a space that offered their clients the experience that a home theater with high-quality audio-video equipment provides. Let’s explore the results.

The Perfect Picture

To obtain a crystal-clear image that appears to pop off the screen, we incorporated the Sony VPL-GTZ380 projector. Sony offers some of the best projectors on the market, in large part due to their experience on both sides of the fence—as producers of over 3,500 movies and 12 Best Picture Academy Award winners and as premier electronics manufacturers. They know what directors and producers expect when their film hits the big screen, and they deliver!

The VPL-GTZ380 represents Sony’s premium laser projector. Due to its 10,000-lumen brightness and unique 3-channel laser light source, it offers brilliant images with striking realism. It utilizes Sony’s X1 Ultimate processor that provides real-time enhancement for every scene, analyzing each one for precise dynamic tone mapping of HDR content.

The result is strikingly impressive images with rich colors, deep blacks, and bright, vivid detail.

The Edgeless Screen

Some view the selection of screens as an afterthought, but they are critically important to the final image and the aesthetics of a media room or home theater. For those of you who have seen Screen Innovations hand-built edgeless screen, you understand the difference and the remarkable image it evokes. The screen sits off the wall by about 1.5-inches and looks like an extremely thin, enormous, and floating flat-screenTV. The wall gap is for the backlit LED lighting that illuminates in virtually any color and brightness level and offers a striking visual.

The silver-colored screen is made up of a micro texture surface that is nine times finer and smoother than normal screen materials. This means that, with Sony’s 4K premium laser projector, you’ll experience sharp and crisp images even with ambient light.

Controlled By Savant

The home entertainment system is controlled by Savant home automation. The system offers the ultimate in customizable options. One tap on a smartphone app or handheld remote and the lights dim, while the film and audio begin.

At our client’s homes, we regularly create customized scenes. For example, one touch may lower the projector from the ceiling, start the audio, dim the lights, lower the blackout shades, and lock the front door. Almost anything is possible with this smart home brand.

At ResTech Systems, we get excited about using the latest innovations to create the best entertainment with premium smart home products and systems. But, more importantly, we get excited about sharing the possibilities with our clients and ensuring the results exceed their expectations. We’re here to create the smart home and entertainment that meshes with your needs and stays within your budget.
